What is engineered wood flooring?

Engineered wood flooring is made up of multiple layers of wood. This type of wood flooring is typically 2.5 to 6 mm thick. Engineered wood flooring is usually installed either by a click fitting system or a tongue and groove profile. The width and length of each individual wood floor board can be manufactured to your individual preference. Furthermore, there are different finishes that can be applied to engineered wood flooring such as oiled, lacquered, brushed and unfinished. However, if you choose an unfinished floor, you will need to protect it using some kind of oil or lacquer, once you are installed it in your home. Unlike laminate, engineered wood flooring has top layer made of real wood.
